Deril Walls

Deril Walls, Sr., of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away in Little Rock, Arkansas, on March 20, 2024. He was born to Walter Thomas Walls, Sr., and Mary Katherine Brown Walls on November 21, 1938, in England, Arkansas. He was honored to be a part of the military.  After serving his first term, he reenlisted two months after being honorably discharged. He took great pride in serving his country during the Vietnam War, serving one year, ten months, and ten days in the war overseas. He spent many years working for the postal service and assisting his wife, Vera, with nursing school. He was a proud husband of their accomplishments together. As they grew older, he became the primary caretaker for his wife. He spent all of his time helping her until she passed away in February 2024.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Walls, his wife, Vera Kathryn Gaines Walls, one son, Buster Walls, and one brother, Roger Walls.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary Walls, two brothers, Joe Walls and wife, Linda, and Walter Walls, Jr, and wife Shirley, brother and sister in law, Gerald Hugh Gaines and wife Della, three grandchildren, Andrea Barrum, Haley Barrum, and Amanda Amselmi (Jamie), fifteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Care Chapel with services following at 2:00 p.m. There will be no graveside service.
